The Cotton Gin
Tonight I got a special treat. As a birthday outing we went to The Crandall Cotton Gin for dinner, country style. I had the breaded catfish, cornbread, black-eyed peas, fried okra and hush puppies. My father-in-law had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, okra and black-eyed peas. We both topped it off with a fall favorite, pecan pie (just a small slice).
One of the highlights was meeting a distant relative of my father-in-law’s (fourth cousin?) Larry Potter who has an interest in The Crandall Cotton Gin. It’s a great place and you should stop in sometime if you ever make your way to Crandall, TX.
