Columbia River Gorge
Well, a day of driving and a little rest behind me I had the pleasure of a little break in the weather this afternoon to enjoy a few of the wonders of the Columbia River Gorge and Historic Highway 30. This drive is certainly one of the most green and scenic I’ve ever made. The challenge is my own timing. It’s Memorial Day weekend and I think the locals can feel the break in the clouds coming and are here in force. Regardless, it gives me an opportunity to see some of this luscious landscape and waterfall covered mountainside so I can plan to return another time to see more.
To top off the day’s adventure, while in route to my waypoint, the view of Mount Hood became prominent and I found a lovely place along the Columbia River on the Washington side to watch the sunset and capture the changes in the skies.
